In August 2000, Southeast Community College will begin offering a two year program designed to train professional potters.
The program will combine production classes with courses in small business management, entrepreneurship and craft marketing. The program will be offered on SECC's Cumberland campus.
The program is the first opportunity in southeastern Kentucky for students to take a comprehensive two-year program designed to place graduates into workforce as professional artists.
Students enrolling in the program will not need any prior training or classes in the arts, pottery, or business to enter the program. This page contains more information about the Professional Craft: Pottery Program. Persons needing more information can contact SECC Pottery Program Director Joe Scopa at 606-589-2145x 2114 or by e-mail at joe.scopa@kctcs.edu.
